I am excited to share with you this dreamy wedding from York Harbor, Maine. A little mist and sea spray didn’t hold this bride back…she’s a Mainer after all! Alana and Brian’s wedding day would not go by without a visit to historic Nubble Lighthouse and Wiggly Bride, and wow was it worth braving the cool Autumn rain. Some of my all time favorite portraits came from this happy couple! Their story is a funny one, as they owe a huge many thanks to Brian’s Dad for setting them up! Alana met his Dad at a work function, then a few days later received an email from him beginning something to the effect of…. “Hi, I know this may seem creepy, but I think you should meet my son…” A single lady in Manhattan, she figured “what the hell…why not?!” Much to her pleasant surprise, “whoa”, the man of her dreams appeared, and the rest is history. These two were definitely always destined to find one another. The day was perfect, sophisticated, beautiful, and filled with laughter. And when Alana’s best friends surprised her with a truly heartfelt serenade, laughter mixed with tears of sheer joy. The cozy space of The Reading Room kept friends and family close, feeling much like a celebration at home. And while guests enjoyed their first course in the dining room, Alana and Brian managed to sneak away for a quiet moment together and danced by candlelight. What a truly special honor it was to capture the romance of Alana & Brian’s wedding day.
A Huge Thank You to my second shooter and talented local Maine photographer, Sarah Jane.
