What a day. Kirsten and Matt’s wedding on Shelter Island could not have been any more perfect. Where the sea arrives at tall oak trees on the slope of The Pridwin grounds, they exchanged their vows to one another with their many loved ones near. The natural palette of blues and greens was further complimented by the vibrant and whimsical florals by Clarks Garden, reflective also of the happy couple’s joyful and lighthearted spirit. And as fun and silly as Matt and Kirsten may be, I reveled in the straight up serious beauty in moments that showed the softer side of them…she modestly gets dressed, he quietly reflects, she glances down in a quiet minute before walking down the aisle, they share a beautiful long hug as they savor their wedding day. Then of course there was a daytime dance party beginning promptly as cocktails were served, little boys in blue seersucker, bridal jumping jacks, balloons, cigars, the worm…. good times. It’s safe to say I was also more than a little excited about Kirsten’s custom made bridal jumpsuit…it’s awesome to be BFFs with the very talented Maria of Bride Boutiquela, a fabulous LA based boutique. Matt is practically the mayor in these parts as we have all come to know and love his Rolling in Dough Pizza Truck, so leave it to his hilarious Best Man, Dave, to appropriately honor the importance of pizza in his on point toast which had the bride and groom….well…rolling. Their amazing band, 45Riots kept the momentum going to the very end. Fantastic.
Huge many thanks to my awesome second shooter that day, the very talented, Sarah Bode-Clark
